The full-time faculty members of the department dedicatedly teach a comprehensive program that includes but not limited to algorithms and theory, computer architecture and quantum computing, computer vision and pattern recognition, data mining and machine learning, distributed systems and grid computing, information systems, operating systems and computer networks, computer security, and scientific computing. The department has recently launched a long-awaited master's program in Data Science. The department offers bachelor, master and doctoral degree programs in Computer Science. The Department of Computer Science is one of the two departments at the School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS) at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi.
